# Ganoes Paran at twelve — candidate design

## Book evidence

- Prologue: twelve; noble wine merchant’s son; stands on tiptoe; bold, scowls and takes pride in his reply.
- Chapter 1, line 625: black hair. Line 303: pleasant face. Line 387 and Chapter 3, line 121: broad/tall adult build. These guide continuity, not an adult physique at twelve.
- Eye colour, exact haircut, complexion and costume details are not specified by those passages.

## User-directed civilian outfit

A fitted indigo tunic, ivory linen collar/cuffs, restrained buff trim, plain leather belt with a small buckle, dark trousers and good boots communicate merchant nobility without royalty. No military armour or sword. Colours and tailoring are interpretations, not a described house uniform. No invented crest.

## Current selected candidates

- Busts: `portraits/ganoes/{neutral,proud,scowl,surprised}_v1.png`,160×192.
- Walk: `sprites/ganoes_walk_v4.png`,192×256, sixteen 48×64 frames.
- Tiptoe: `sprites/ganoes_tiptoe_v2.png`,144×64.
- Animated previews: `previews/ganoes_walk_v4_south.gif` and `previews/ganoes_tiptoe_v2.gif`.
- Source masters/prompts: `source/portrait_ganoes_*_v1.*`, `source/walk_ganoes_v4.*`, `source/pose_ganoes_tiptoe_v2.*`.

All remain unapproved. Check apparent age, noble clothing, face/sprite identity and motion at native scale. The surprise bust also serves as an expression capability study.

## Superseded history

The first reference sheet’s rough clothing was replaced by the noble civilian direction. The user rejected the distorted 32×48 v2 export; it is excluded from runtime and must never be treated as approved. Earlier v3 single-frame 32×48/48×64 comparisons remain historical studies. The current animated cast uses the common 48×64 frame contract.
