# Surly sprite proportions: visual review

User noted her head proportions compared with the cast. The older sprite had a round hair mass, particularly in profile and from behind, compared with the close-cropped adult portrait.

Built-in ImageGen edited the existing v4 sheet using Surly's neutral portrait as identity reference and the commander sheet as relative scale/style reference. Exact prompt/master are saved as art/source/walk_surly_v5.*. Revised silhouette has less round hair volume and a narrower head/jaw. It remains an unapproved art candidate.

Aseprite uniformly exports 16 48x64 walking cells and a 4-direction idle strip. The source's own passing head/neck reference is held per row, with complete per-view bounds (37/35/35/30), avoiding old oversized idle heads and jaw seams. Moving forearms remain below these bounds. Selected paths are in content/characters.json.

Inspected the enlarged walking contact sheet, same-foot-anchor comparison, actual Godot map and refreshed cast gallery. Comparison columns: commander / previous Surly / revised Surly / Fiddler. Rows: south / west / east / north. Exact 3x display.

Full scene recording completed all 48 speaking paragraphs, 7600 frames at 60 fps (126.67 seconds). Current film is art/previews/prologue_preview_v5.mp4, nearest-neighbour 1080p. No new automated tests added or run; these are art and scene renders.

Reproduce assets: python3 tools/prepare_motion.py --characters surly --gaits-only
Comparison crop tool: tools/export_cast_comparison.lua (commander, before, after, fiddler, output and front parameters).
